ChildLife in Japan and Japanese Child Stories eBook Matilda Chaplin Ayrton William Elliot Griffis
Written by a British woman then adapted for reading by American children at the turn into the 20th century, these quaint vignettes introduce the reader to the dress, play, stories, and customs of Japanese children. It highlights without condescension the substantial skills required to play games of memorized poetry and play-war. Ironically I now have a better understanding of the self-described Japanese games than the mostly forgotten Western games to which they are compared. The book is shorter than it appears with a full third of its length devoted to a catalog of other educational materials by the same publisher.Product details

ChildLife in Japan and Japanese Child Stories eBook Matilda Chaplin Ayrton William Elliot Griffis Reviews
The whole point of this book seems to be the pictures that go along with the story. However, there are no pictures in the kindle version!
Excellent free kindle book. My kids love reading books on our Samsung tablet, which is half the battle with young kids.
